In the summer of 2012, MONOXIDE was launched as a result of a broken piece of jewellery that Tyler, the founder, refused to throw away. Instead, she attempted to repair it herself and this ignited her passion for jewellery-making. She began by repurposing vintage pieces into modern designs and teaching herself design techniques by disassembling each piece. As demand for her unique creations grew, Tyler transitioned from creating one-of-a-kind pieces to developing collections. However, Tyler's hands-on approach and love for discovering each piece's potential remained unchanged. Unlike most designers, she doesn't draw her designs but instead constructs each sample by hand before final production.
